The content of the book designed by P. is obvious from the abstract ‘The Input of Syrians into the World Culture’ published in it. The book was to cover mainly the language, the literature, the science, and the education of Syrians in the context of political and ecclesiastic events and the history of dissemination of the Syrianculture eastwards. Unfortunately, P. succeeded to write only chapters on the education and the science in the Syrian medieval culture, and a chapter on the interconnections between Byzantine, Iran, and Syrians Monophysites. Those parts were included into that posthumous publication.
The book is interesting also with its intention to proof the role of Syrians as cultural mediators between the classic Greek world and Arabs, through whom the medieval Europe found the classic heritage for itself.
